At the City of Rockingham road safety is incorporated into the City of Rockingham Strategic Plan.
Safe Speeds
Please Slow Down, Consider Our Kids bin stickers project
During 2011, the Rockingham RoadWise Advisory Group has distributed "Please Slow Down, Consider Our Kids" bin stickers to schools in their area encouraging drivers to slow down around schools and look out for pedestrians.
The Rockingham RoadWise Advisory Committee continues the promotion of 50km/p speed limits.
Safe Road Use
Safe Travel to School Project - Secret Harbor Primary School
The City of Rockingham RoadWise Advisory Committee is working with Secret Harbour Primary School on the Safe Travel to School Project. Secret Harbour Primary School also have a ‘walking school bus’. A ‘walking school bus’ is a school-based system of walking students of all ages from home to school and return under adult supervision. The supervisors are volunteer parents who are trained in procedures for ensuring the safety of children. This encourages walking as an active mode of transport. Springfest
The Rockingham Springfest is an annual event that brings together community groups, stall holders, rides and showcases local talent. Well over 10,000 attend the annual one-day event. The Rockingham RoadWise Committee have been involved for a number of years to provide an interactive display on road safety issues. In addition to the Road Safety Display Trailer the Rockingham RoadWise Committee provided fun and educational activities that highlight the importance of road safety.

Safe Vehicles
The City of Rockingham place a high priority on safe vehicles and have a Light Vehicle Fleet Policy that ensures that all passenger vehicles purchased have an ANCAP safety rating of at least 4 stars. The Roackingham RoadWise Advisory Committee encourages all community members looking to purchase a vehicle to consider a minimum of 4 stars. For more information please visit http://www.ancap.com.au
Safe Roads & Roadsides

The RoadWise Advisory Committee works with engineering services to adopt and implement road design practices and procedures which utilise up-to-date standards of performance, level of service and safety. Connectivity audits, audits of roundabouts and roadsides take place continuously along with cycle crash location and pedestrian crash location analysis.
