Kalbarri RoadWise Committee Gets Ready for Action

Kalbarri Road Trauma Prevention Day

The Kalbarri RoadWise Committee has been successful in obtaining $19,602 in grant funding from the Government of Western Australia's Road Safety Community Grant Program to implement their 2017 Road Safety Action Plan.

The plan includes several big projects and the Committee will invite other Local Governments in the Mid West region to participate as they work together to reduce road trauma in the region.

As a part of the action plan, representatives from the Kalbarri RoadWise Committee recently visited the neighbouring Principality of Hutt River which receives more than 9,000 visitors each year.

The principality will be assisting with some of the Committee’s road safety projects by distributing road safety information to visitors who travel through the area each year. They participated in and promoted the Road Ribbon for Road Safety® campaign, are helping promote the ‘Drive Left’ message and will be installing a ‘Belt Up – You’re Worth It’ sign to remind tourists to wear their seat belts.

To find out how you can get involved in road safety activities in the Mid West region, contact Road Safety Advisor, Sam Adams on 0419 953 583.
