Road Safety All Year Round

The City of Gosnells RoadWise Advisory Group has released their 2017 RoadWise School Road Safety Art Competition Calendar.

Each year the Advisory Group provides the opportunity for local schools to be involved in a school road safety art competition which covers a specific road safety issue.

Schools who choose to participate, work with students to learn more about the nominated issue and produce artwork which delivers a message. Artworks are assessed by a panel consisting of members of the Advisory Group and 12 are selected to develop a calendar.

The message for 2016 was driver distraction and last month an awards presentation was held to acknowledge the 12 artists and their schools, and launch the 2017 calendar.

The calendar, which has been distributed to schools within the City of Gosnells as well as community members, provides a yearlong reminder to watch out for things that distract the driver.
