Consulting the Stars at Angelo Street Markets

The City of South Perth Community Safety Group was on hand to encourage the purchase of safe vehicles at the recent Angelo Street Markets.
When buying a new or used car not all vehicles are equal when it comes to safety. To help people make informed decisions about what car is safer, the City of South Perth Community Safety Group provided information on new and used car safety ratings and promoted five-star vehicles.
Visitors to the stand were given the opportunity to test their knowledge through a quiz which asked questions about ANCAP, vehicle safety features and the importance of pedestrian safety ratings.
Vehicle safety features can be active features that assist in avoiding a crash in the first place (electronic stability control, autonomous emergency braking) or passive features that better protect vehicle occupants in the event of a crash (airbags, seatbelts, head restraints).
