Councils Join Forces to Check and Fit Resident’s Child Car Restraints

Posted on: Tuesday, 20 June 2017 at 12:00:00 AM

This free event saw qualified Type 1 Child Car Restraint Fitters from each Council carry out 26 child car restraint checks.

Using an appropriate child car restraint can greatly reduce the risk of death or serious injury to a child in the event of a crash. Ensuring the restraint is correctly fitted is also important.

During the morning, corrections made included untwisting tether straps, advising owners to allow a gap between rearward facing capsules and the front seats, and adjusting the shoulder heights of internal harnesses.
