Toodyay RoadWise Committee Target Unsecure Loads at Moondyne 2017

Posted on: Tuesday, 20 June 2017 at 12:00:00 AM

The Committee received a promotional kit from the Keep Australia Beautiful Council (WA) which included a banner, cargo nets and tie-downs to demonstrate safe load restraint.

Committee member Max Heath said: “When taking that trip to the tip, remember to tie down or cover the load adequately. Too many times we see debris on the road that has fallen off the trailer or ute, and besides being unsightly, this debris can be a major road safety hazard. When using tie-downs always check that they have an Australian Standards load rating.”
Incoming Committee Chairman, Bob Neville said, “The Toodyay RoadWise Committee has a number of local representatives who are passionate about road safety, and in particular the work needed on Toodyay Road from Dryandra Road into town to bring that stretch of road up to an acceptable and safe standard for all road users. This will be our focus over the coming months.”
