Save Our Country Kids (SOCK) Week

Posted on: Friday, 30 June 2017 at 12:00:00 AM

Congratulations to the Narembeen Community Resource Centre and the Narembeen community on their Save Our Country Kids (SOCK) Week campaign.

This local initiative aims to raise awareness of road safety and promote safe, responsible road use to help reduce road deaths and serious injury (and the impact this has on the community).

The campaign includes the release of video interviews with families who have lost loved ones as a result of road trauma as well as local police and emergency service volunteers.

Local school children, the Narembeen Club, Narembeen Hotel, the roadhouse, police and the wider community are all involved in a week of activities which culminates in a community event on Saturday night where the community will gather to shine their torches to remember those affected by road trauma.

Visit the Narembeen Community Resource Centre Facebook page to see how the community is supporting this local road safety campaign.
