Courtesy Speed Display Signs Available to Assist With Local Safe Speed and Speeding Initiatives

The vision of the Strategy is of a road transport system where crashes resulting in death or serious injury are virtually eliminated.

Achieving this vision can be done through the delivery of local road safety initiatives that accommodate the safe system approach through the cornerstones: safe road use, safe roads and roadsides, safe speeds, and safe vehicles.

The CSDS can assist Local Governments to implement local road safety initiatives that:

  1. Address elements of safe road use by encouraging behaviour maintenance or behaviour change in relation to speeding along with support for speed enforcement activity by local police.
  2. Support their own local area speed management treatments/works or speed limit changes by Main Roads WA to positively influence network travel speeds.
