Safe Roads and Roadsides Treatment: Wire Rope Barriers. Ever Wondered How They Actually Work?

If you’ve seen the wire rope safety barriers installed on sections of our WA road network and wondered how they actually work, check out the new road safety video from the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).

Each time a safety barrier is hit, people are saved from potential life changing injuries or death.

Safety barriers are installed on sections of road where the risk of head on collision or run-off road crashes are high. Flexible safety barriers are installed because they reduce these types of crashes from happening by more than 85%.
