Project Grants

Project Grants were developed to provide funds to organisations and groups to develop and implement projects based on the Towards Zero WA Road Safety Strategy 2008-2020

Grant amount
The amount funded is based on the Committee’s assessment of the application.

Criteria;
• Focus on the four cornerstones outlined in the recommended Towards Zero WA Road Safety Strategy 2008-2020 ;
• Relates to current road safety research
• Demonstrate clear relevance to the target group;
• Use an approach that has previously been successful in achieving road safety objectives;
• Demonstrate widespread community support and participation;
• Demonstrate sustainability;
• Provide a contribution in cash or kind towards the project; and
• Demonstrate a regional focus for maximum impact.

Reporting requirements
• Submit an interim evaluation report 6 months following the start date of your project
• Submit an evaluation report over $4,000 (if funded amount is over $4,000) or submit an evaluation report under $4,000 (if funded amount is under $4,000) 12 months following the start date of your project
• Submit a financial acquittal 12 months following the start date of your project

How to apply
• Identify road safety issues in your area. Speak to either a Regional Road Safety Officer or local Police to discuss these issues. Use data to identify the causes of crashes in your area.
• Find out what has been done in other areas to address these issues and view previously funded applications.
• Find out more about the road safety issue/s of concern.

• View Evaluation report (funded over $4,000 or funded under $4,000) and acquittal form and view completed evaluation reports that were assessed highly
• Complete an application form
• Get the application form sighted by your regional road safety officer

Assistance in evalution can be found here and also be sort from your Regional Road Safety Officer.

Applications must be received at least three months prior to the planned project start date. Applications close on the first Friday of every month.
