Five Star Cars in Demand in the Wheatbelt Region

Motorists in the Wheatbelt region are increasingly seeking out cars which offer better protection in the event of a crash, and local car dealers are on board, encouraging those in the market for a new car to ask their car dealer, "Is this a five star car?"

Avon Valley Mitsubishi General Manager, Linda Rose understands that local motorists are looking for the safety features that protect themselves, their passengers and pedestrians in the event of a crash.

"Crash avoidance and occupant protection are features any car buyer should consider to stay safe on our roads," Ms Rose said.

Recent Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) crash testing results revealed the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross scored a 97% rating for adult occupant protection. This is the equal second highest score in this area of assessment, and the highest in its class.

“The design of the front of the Eclipse Cross as well as its ability to avoid or minimise the injury risk to a pedestrian through the standard fitment of autonomous emergency braking contributes to its strong score of 80 per cent for pedestrian protection. This is a five star car.” said Ms Rose.

"If you are looking to buy a new car, remember to ask your dealer - is this a five star car?" she said.

Both new and used cars can be checked for safety performance through the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) at www.ancap.com.au and the Used Car Safety Ratings (UCSR) at www.howsafeisyourcar.com.au
