How High is the Water Mamma? Promoting the "If it's Flooded, Forget It" Message in Derby

The Shire of Derby West Kimberley (SDWK) RoadWise Committee showcased its local road safety campaigns at the recent Derby Expo (formerly the "Welcome to Derby Day"), including important flood related initiatives.

With the record rainfall in the West Kimberley, there was plenty of conversation around the number of closed roads in the district.

The Committee continued to raise awareness of the local “Roads are closed for a Reason” and “If it’s flooded forget it!” campaigns, which aim to reinforce the importance of not trying to drive across roads when flooded.

There have been numerous rescues and motorists have been left stranded following travel on flooded roads during the current wet season.
