Hedland RoadWise Putting Community First

At a recent meeting of the Hedland RoadWise Group, members discussed the strategic direction of the group and ways to ensure improved road safety outcomes for the community.

The Hedland RoadWise Group is made up of representatives of local road safety partner agencies including the Town of Port Hedland, Goodline, Main Roads WA, Bloodwood Tree Association, Toll, Police, School Drug Education and Road Aware (SDERA) and WALGA RoadWise.

At their recent planning workshop, members expressed a desire to be more community focussed and as a result will have a greater presence within the community, attending events such as Welcome to Hedland, Careers Expo and Turf Club race meets.

The group will also support activities and events to raise awareness of the dangers of sharing the road with road trains and other local road safety issues.
