Augusta 'Save Our Country Kids' Road Safety Week

Posted on: Monday, 26 November 2018 at 12:00:00 AM

The Augusta Community Resource Centre recently held a Save Our Country Kids (SOCK) week based on the recent Regional Safety Award winning concept initiated by the Narembeen Community Resource Centre.

The event reached a wide community audience across the week, including primary school students, high school students and parents.

Supported by the WA Police Force, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, St John Ambulance, the Country Womens' Association and the Chamber of Commerce, the event helped raise awareness about the dangers of driver fatigue.

The event finished with a sausage sizzle and a bike ride to promote wearing helmets, including bike safety tips.

Thanks is also extended to the local BP Service Station, which offered free coffee in KeepCups sponsored by Bendigo Bank.
