Road Ribbons for Road Safety® on Display at the St Barbara's Parade

The Kalgoorlie-Boulder RoadWise Committee joined in the fun of the St Barbara's Parade on 2 December, reminding people about the importance of working together towards zero deaths and serious injuries on our roads.

In Kalgoorlie, the Patron Saint of Mining is celebrated with the annual St Barbara’s Parade. Thousands of people line the main street to watch a parade of the mining machinery, drilling rigs and the many community groups that make Kalgoorlie-Boulder vibrant.

This year, a group of students from Eastern Goldfields College assisted the RoadWise Committee by designing artwork for the Committee's float which sought to remind the community about the need to wear a seatbelt, slow down, enjoy the ride and make “zero the hero”.

Members of the RoadWise Committee joined in the parade, chatting to the crowd about the Road Ribbon for Road Safety® campaign to encourage the community to get involved and help spread the campaign messages.
