City of Joondalup to Upgrade Hepburn Avenue

In early 2019 the City of Joondalup will commence upgrade works along Hepburn Avenue in Duncraig to improve safety.
The City has been successful in obtaining Black Spot grant funding for the 2018-19 financial year to install 1.5 metre wide road shoulders on the carriageways for east and west bound traffic on Hepburn Avenue (for the two kilometres from the Mitchell Freeway interchange to Marmion Avenue).
A road safety practitioner was engaged to undertake a road safety audit for this section of Hepburn Avenue, with information used to support the Black Spot submission.
Hepburn Avenue is a major east/west connection within the City and is also a significant cycling route as it leads to the coastal precinct. The installation of shoulders for this section of Hepburn Avenue will provide improved space for
on-road cyclists, while also improving the run-off zone for motorcycles and vehicles.
