City of Greater Geraldton Planning Safe Active Streets Program

The City of Greater Geraldton is planning to create a safe active street in the Bluff Point precinct at Railway Street.

The project will be an important part of the City of Greater Geraldton’s transport network, providing a comfortable and safe route for people using bikes whilst creating a connection between schools, parks, business areas and residences.

A safe active street is a quiet, low traffic, low speed street that is designed to be a more welcoming space for people travelling on foot or bike.

On such streets, speed limits are reduced to 30km/hr and traffic calming infrastructure is installed to allow cars and people on bikes to share the street safely. These streets offer an active transport route between parks, schools, business districts and where people live.
