Yesterday, WALGA’s State Council came together to show their support for the 2021 Road Ribbon for Road Safety® campaign.
This annual photo is more than a tradition, it signifies Local Government’s important role in improving road safety outcomes. Local Governments design, build and manage 87.2 per cent of the road network in Western Australia where 58 per cent of all killed or serious injury crashes occur. They are also planning authorities and fleet managers, in addition to their community development and leadership roles.
Local Governments are supporting the road ribbon campaign by creating road safety displays, distributing ribbons, and encouraging people to share the e-ribbon as a reminder that we can all do something when it comes to road safety, we can all take action.
