Shire of Shark Bay
The Shire of Shark Bay is 832 kilometres north of Perth.
It has an area of 25,000square kilometres in which around 984 people reside. Of its 573 kilometres of road, more than 95% is unsealed.
Although seemingly empty, the North West Coastal Highway is a very busy commercial highway. Take care and be patient when approaching heavy transport and slower vehicles.
Tourists are attracted to this World Heritage place with dolphins, stromatolites and a rich history. Other industries include fishing, salt production and pastoral.
Spend some time enjoying the peaceful lifestyle, but remember to watch out for wildlife, even in town.
