Norseman is a central point for people travelling along the very busy Eyre Highway.
Issues of concern with this stretch of highway include:
- Interaction of heavy vehicles and light vehicles;
- Changes in road rules and speeds between states
- Drivers exceeding maximum towing speeds
- Drug/drink driving.
The Police and emergency services personnel confront a significant number of road crashes on this stretch of road.
The Shire of Dundas were successful in obtaining a Community Road Safety Grant for a speed display trailer, which is used regularly throughout the Shire.
