Safe speeds project to help prevent death and serious injury on Halls Creek roads

The Shire of Halls Creek will target local travel speeds as part of a local project.

The Shire of Halls Creek’s Safe Speed Project aims to contribute to a reduction in death and serious injury on our roads by encouraging drivers to drive to the conditions and stick to posted speed limits every time they travel through the town.

This initiative involves local agencies working together to review speed data on local roads and promote the safe speed message throughout the community.

The first stage of this project involved installation of a road safety electronic message board at the police station, distribution of 'Please Slow Down Consider our Kids' wheelie bin stickers to every household, 'I slow down in Halls Creek' vehicle bumper stickers and a Safe Speed Pledge for locals to sign.

The Halls Creek Safe Speed Project is funded by a Government of Western Australia Road Safety Community Grant.
