I slow down in Rockingham

The Committee promotes safe speeds through activities such as the I slow down in Rockingham bumper stickers which encourages drivers to drive within speed limits and with courtesy to other road users.

Safe Travel to School

The committee works with local schools to raise the awareness and knowledge of students and parents on travelling to school safely.

Raising awareness of road safety

The committee works to raise awareness of road safety through a variety of means including attending events such as the Rockingham Spring Fair and Rockingham Community Expo. The media is also used and the committee is planning a project to design road safety banner flags to be displayed on centre island poles. The City of Rockingham also supported the Road Ribbon for Road Safety campaign through media articles and distribution of road ribbons.

Addressing impaired driving

Working with local police, committee members distribute information about how to avoid the dangers of drink driving at random breath testing operations.
