Road Safety Performance Reports

WALGA's RoadWise has developed the Road Safety Performance on Local Government Roads reports to assist Local Governments who wish to improve road safety outcomes for their communities.

The reports are designed to help:

  1. measure the road safety performance of the road network they manage,
  2. monitor changes (positive or negative) in road safety performance over time,
  3. establish road safety improvement targets, and
  4. identify and prioritise the work that will lead to improvements in the road safety performance of the road network.

Local Governments can use these reports to:

  • benchmark and monitor road safety performance and progress,
  • prioritise and progress evidence based safe system interventions, and
  • set road safety targets.

The Road Safety Performance on Local Government Roads reports are updated and released annually to assist Local Governments to benchmark and compare road safety performance.

Four editions of the reports have been developed and are available: 2013-17 edition, 2014-18 edition, 2015-19 edition and 2017-21 edition.

RoadWise Councils can contact their dedicated Road Safety Advisor for copies of the reports and for assistance in utilising the information in the planning of local road safety action.

Local Governments can email roadwise@walga.asn.au to obtain copies of the reports and supporting notes.

All reports should be read in conjunction with the relevant Road Safety Performance on Local Government Roads Report Supporting Notes.
