Northam Senior Citizen's Indoor Bowls Club Slows Down and Enjoys the Ride

Posted on: Tuesday, 20 June 2017 at 12:00:00 AM

The club meets every week for social events and to play indoor bowls at the Northam Recreation Centre.

On their away trips in the Northam community bus, they fix magnetic signs with the speed message to the bus and put up their signage at various venues across the Wheatbelt. The Indoor Bowlers know that speeding doesn’t always get you there faster.

Shire of Northam RoadWise Committee Chairman Clinton Kleynhans said, “Speeding costs lives. The way we drive can be a symptom of the way we live. Too fast. Research shows that people who live fast, with stressful lifestyles are more likely to speed.”

So if we slow down, not only will we be happier, we’ll be safer too. And there’s a lot of happiness in this Club!
