During the WALGA Local Government Awards evening on Saturday, 19 July, 75 Local Governments who are registered RoadWise Councils received acknowledgement for their planning, implementing, recording and sharing of road safety action. The 2025 Ribbon status for these RoadWise Councils was revealed, indicating how comprehensive or holistic their approach to road safety has been across the organisation for the previous year. A full breakdown of the 2025 Ribbons can be viewed here.

In addition, special acknowledgement was given to one RoadWise Council from each Regional Road Group in recognition of consistently demonstrating a commitment to planning, implementing, monitoring and communicating road safety activity.

Congratulations to the Shire of Broome, Shire of Capel, Town of Claremont, Shire of Dowerin, Shire of Dundas, Shire of Exmouth, City of Greater Geraldton, Shire of Jerramungup, City of Karratha and Shire of Quairading, with special note to the Shire of Dowerin who also took home the inaugural WA RoadWise Council Award which they can keep and display until next year’s awards.

The Shire of Jerramungup will also receive an Australasian Road Safety Conference registration package courtesy of Paywise Pty Ltd. A representative drew the lucky recipient from a hat containing the ten Award recipients during the presentation.
