Shadows of Summer Campaign

The Road Safety Commission Shadows of Summer campaign, being rolled out across WA, casts shadows on walkways across the state to remember the people who have died on WA roads.

In January 2022, preliminary figures for West Australian road fatalities in 2021 were released. 166 people died on our roads, with 99 of these in regional WA.

The campaign includes temporary graphics, installed at metropolitan and regional locations across Western Australia.

Northam Shire President Chris Antonio said, “The Shadows of Summer campaign really brings it home that local people die on our roads. The shadows cast at the Village Green in Northam represent the people we are missing from our region this summer.”
