Keys for Life in Moora
Posted on: Monday, 21 August 2017 at 12:00:00 AM
Keys for Life is a comprehensive, evidence-based pre-driver program that assists parents, schools and agencies to educate young people about safe road use and provides licencing and graduation benefits.
The program prepares young people for safer driving and is an important part of Towards Zero, the Western Australian road safety strategy 2008-2020. The two day workshop was delivered by registered facilitators from SDERA and Avon Youth, with assistance from WALGA’s RoadWise.
Topics covered included braking/stopping distances, drink/drug driving, driver distraction, trip planning and fatigue management, first aid immediate response, and safe vehicles including a session with Dave from Moora Tyres on what’s under the bonnet and changing a tyre.
Of the 26 participants, 24 achieved a pass in the Learner Theory Test so they are now on their way to earning their Driver’s Licence.
