Michael has been an active member of the committee since 2008 and was particularly interested in representing the views of seniors and vulnerable road users. As a member of the Albany Seniors Advisory Committee, he acted as a conduit between the two committees.
A Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to Michael at the August RoadWise meeting.
The Committee would like to wish Michael all the best for the future and thank him for his efforts in improving road safety in Albany over the past seven years.

The Coolgardie Men in Sheds recently received a Certificate of Appreciation for refurbishing the Kalgoorlie-Boulder RoadWise trailer.
The trailer provides a visual reminder for local motorists to travel safely throughout the Goldfields and is utilised by both the Kalgoorlie-Boulder RoadWise Committee and the wider community to promote road safety messages.
Wayne Bird from Coolgardie Men in Sheds said the Men’s Shed was happy to support initiatives that assisted the community.
“When we were approached by a RoadWise Committee member last year to see if we would be interested in refurbishing their trailer, we thought it was a great opportunity to get involved in a community project as we had only just become a member of the W.A. Men’s Shed group," he said
"We were able to salvage the damaged vehicle and the damaged motorbike was donated by a local Kalgoorlie lady."
"Refurbishing the trailer gave our members the opportunity to try out their metal working skills with welding, grinding, painting and all of the other requirements the trailer needed.”
This project was supported by a Government of Western Australia's Road Safety Community Grant.
If you know someone who goes above and beyond to demonstrate a commitment to road safety in your community, why not recognise them with a Human Spirit Award? Contact your closest Road Safety Advisor or visit the RoadWise Program website to find out how to submit your nomination.
